Very soon, the world-famous artist Nicolás López, from Peru, will come to Mexico to teach two workshops during the III International Art Festival RÍOS DE COLOR in Mexico City.

The first workshop is titled “Language of Water” and the second “Experimental Workshop.”

You may attend just one day of the workshop for half the price.

Both workshops will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break, in Mexico City.

THE LANGUAGE OF WATER

Workshop

Using the Language of the Water Nicolás will explore the fundamental resources to figure out the meaning of water inside the watercolor landscape. He will draw some basic architectural lines directly on the paper with his brush in order to avoid too much detail and rigidity in the composition. Thus, he will allow the water to simplify the elements in his compositions and to paint together with him in a creative respectful dialogue.

• Understanding the importance of appropriate materials.
• Water as a key element in interpretation.
• Addressing the architectural landscape and its plastic components (composition, perspective, distribution, etc.).

• Plein air sketches and painting.
• Synthesis in drawing and watercolor (transparency, dark / light).
• Elements for composition and interpretation of texture.

• Intensive exercises in small formats (atmospheric perspective, planes, synthesis, etc.).
• Final project: painting on half sheet (55 x 38 cm) applying what has been studied.

• Round natural hair brushes No. 3 and 12.

• 2 thin liners or riggers, one finer than the other.
