Very soon, for the first time, Daniel Martínez, an artist from Uruguay recognized worldwide, will arrive in Mexico to teach two workshops during the III International Art Festival RÍOS DE COLOR in Mexico City, Mexico.

The first workshop is “Light and Asphalt: Capturing the City in Watercolor” and the second is “Sunbath: The Soul of the Street.”

You may attend just one day of the workshop for half the price.

Both workshops will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including a one-hour lunch break.

Note: The schedule within each day may be slightly adjusted; some workshops may start at 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. The final schedule will be confirmed in August.

Join me for an intensive watercolor experience where you will learn that “less is more.” In this workshop, specially designed for the Ríos de Color Festival, we will demystify urban and natural complexity to focus on the essence of movement and light.

The workshop is divided into two fundamental stages:

Stage 1: The Anatomy of the Process (3 hours)

We will begin with a live demonstration “from zero to one hundred.” As you watch a painting come to life, I will share my secrets on handling materials, color mixing, and timing. You will have complete freedom to take photos, record videos, and ask any questions that arise.

We will then move on to guided practice, where you will learn to synthesize key elements that bring soul to any scene:

• Dynamic signage
• Vehicles integrated into the landscape
• Urban signage and organic vegetation (trees)

Stage 2: Creation and Synthesis

In the second phase, we will pick up our brushes and apply a foolproof 3-step method. The goal is not faithful copying, but the suggestion of forms. You will learn to simplify what you see and transform it into a vibrant, lively work of art.

Most importantly, we will work on embracing mistakes as creative allies, allowing the watercolor to flow naturally.
