Xi Guo – China
Xi Guo (Shanghai, China) is a distinguished watercolorist and visual artist based in St. Augustine, Florida, USA. She grew up in Shanghai, studied oil painting at Shanghai Normal University, and later specialized in photography. Her interest in watercolor emerged more than a decade ago, and each of her works reflects her meticulous attention to detail, the subtlety of light and color, and an intimate perspective on nature and the fleetingness of life. As she herself describes: “My paintings seek to transport the viewer beyond themselves, even though they know everything is ephemeral; watercolor, with its transparency, unpredictability, and fragility, allows me to express ideas and emotions in a way that is both subtle and direct.”
She has received international recognition that highlights her mastery of watercolor, including being named a Dolphin Fellow of the American Watercolor Society and a Master Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society. Her work has been selected for numerous international exhibitions, earning awards such as Best in Show from the Florida Watercolor Society, the Best Watercolor Award at the 15th International ARC Salon Competition, and distinctions at the Fabriano International Watercolor Biennale in Italy. She has also been honored with awards such as the Anne Williams Glushien Memorial Award and the Edgar A. Whitney Award, consolidating her reputation within the global watercolor community.
Her pieces have been exhibited in countries including China, France, England, Italy, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Greece, as well as in major exhibitions of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, and Florida Watercolor Society.
