Veneta Docheva – Bulgaria.
Veneta Docheva (Sofia, Bulgaria, 1974) is an artist and watercolorist whose work focuses on landscapes and elements of nature, aiming to convey serenity and unique sensations. After completing her academic training in law at Sofia University, she chose to devote herself entirely to painting, delving into watercolor as her primary medium and gradually developing a personal style defined by delicacy and a thoughtful use of color.
For Veneta, artistic creation is a deeply intimate and emotional process: “For me, art is a feeling, a powerful emotion, an experience. I love painting; my inner world is of immense importance to me, and I strive to bring it to life on paper.” This vision manifests in works that seek to evoke calm, sensitivity, and a connection to nature that goes beyond mere representation.
Throughout her career, she has participated in over seventy international group exhibitions and numerous solo shows across Europe and beyond. Her work has been recognized in various international watercolor competitions and festivals, including awards and runner-up honors from the International Watercolour Society (IWS) in Europe and Asia, as well as an Excellence Award at Aquarelle Pyrenees – Global Art Connection. She was also selected among the top 50 artists for the Freedom and Self Expression exhibition in Budapest and has participated as a guest artist in International Watercolor Masters in the UK. Her artworks are held in private collections around the world.
