Patricia Guzman – Mexico
Patricia Guzman (Mexico City, 1983) is a Mexican painter on the autism spectrum, specializing in watercolor, oil, and acrylic. She is widely recognized for her realistic portraits and her profound commitment to human and cultural narratives. Her work has received international acclaim, and she has participated in more than one hundred and fifty exhibitions worldwide, from China to Europe and the Americas. She studied Philosophy at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a background that has deeply influenced her technical and reflective approach to the creative process.
She is based in Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico, where, in addition to developing her artistic practice, she conducts workshops, offers classes, and actively participates in painting events at a global level.
Her work is part of permanent collections in the Americas, Asia, and Europe, and has been featured in numerous books, catalogs, and specialized art publications. Regarding her own work, the artist states: “My intention is to give voice to the human condition. My passion is to portray different realities from my perspective as a woman, through figuration, emotion, and reason.” Through this vision, Patricia Guzmán addresses themes such as the dignity of Indigenous peoples, identity, and the shared human experience.
