Jayson Yeoh Choon Seng – Malaysia

Jayson Yeoh Choon Seng (b. 1963, Malaysia) is a self-taught watercolor artist based in Malaysia, renowned for his personal approach to water and color. His work explores landscapes, urban scenes, fishing boats, and compositions where tradition meets the semi-abstract, seeking to capture sensations rather than exact representations.

From a young age, he cultivated his passion for painting without formal academic training, developing a distinctive style of his own. Reflecting on his practice, he states: “I have always felt that being self-taught is not easy, and creating art is even more difficult. In my artistic journey, there are both joys and challenges. I have learned through trial and error, and I have come to realize that the ups and downs of my artwork are nourishment for my creative process and sustenance for my life.”

Jayson Yeoh has been recognized in numerous international watercolor exhibitions, receiving awards in the United States and Canada, including honors from the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society, the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, and the Missouri Watercolor Society. He holds Signature Member status in prestigious associations such as the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, and the Missouri Watercolor Society. His work has been selected for juried exhibitions across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, solidifying his presence on the international watercolor scene. In addition to painting, Jayson conducts workshops and shares techniques, with a deep interest in the creative process and in the relationship between the artist, the artwork, and its viewers.
