Aood Ampawa – Thailand
Aood Ampawa (Thailand, 1963) is a Thai visual artist specializing in watercolor with an impressionistic approach. He holds a Diploma in Printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Poh-Chang Academy of Arts (1985), a foundation that solidified his technical mastery and deep understanding of both graphic and pictorial processes.
His professional journey spans from film production to managing an advertising company, experiences that have enriched his visual and narrative perspective. He has also worked as a muralist and gallery owner, building an independent career of over three decades dedicated to painting.
Since 2016, he has participated in numerous international exhibitions, including shows in Hua Hin, Portugal, and through the International Watercolor Society (IWS) across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. He has also conducted workshops and demonstrations in countries such as Russia, Spain, and Japan.
His work has received multiple international awards, notably First Prize at the OlympicArt Online Contest (India, 2019) and the Bronze Prize in Singapore (2023), along with recognitions in Mexico, Russia, Pakistan, and Turkey.
Currently, he serves as Thailand’s official representative and Master Artist at IMWA (International Master Watercolor ASEAN) under the direction of Master Liu Yi, and continues to share his expertise as an educator and lecturer both in Thailand and abroad.
