Angelika

Russian painter, born in 1970 in Uzlovaya, Tula region (Russia).

At a very young age she moved with her parents to Siberia, where she spent hours looking out the window at the landscape and later sketching in her diary what she saw behind it.

She began attending the Special School for the Gifted in Krasnoyarsk (named after Vasily Surikov), Siberia, from which she graduated in 1990.

In 1994 she founded a private painting school for primary school children.

She worked for a time as a restorer at the local art museum.

In 1998 she created the primary school curriculum entitled Art: The Beginnings.

The course was published by the State Council of School Education in the form of a monograph and is used as a basis for the study of fine arts in primary schools in Siberia.

With a very personal style, the themes of her paintings are the landscape, antiquities, Greek mythology, the traditions of the people who have lived in her land for many centuries, flowers, some masterpieces of poetry and female figures full of sensuality.

Angelika is a member of the Russian Association of Artists since 2006 and of the International Association 'Des ARTS Plastiques' of UNESCO.

Angelika's works are successfully exhibited in galleries in Russia, England and the United States.

In 2006, she participated for the first time in an international exhibition at the Du Soleil art gallery, in Naples (Florida, United States of America), and her works were acquired, allowing her to enter the international art market.

Her works are found in art museums in Siberia and the Far East, as well as in private collections and galleries in Russia, the United States, Great Britain, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany and China.

She lives and works in Saint Petersburg.

Angelika Privalikhina's paintings attract us with their slow and admiring contemplation of the world, something rare in contemporary art.

Each of her natural paintings awakens a figurative imagination whose limits are only limited by the individual perception of the observer.

For some, it is just interior decoration in the form of flowers, porcelain vases, antique perfume bottles and charming ornaments left on a dressing table, while for others it means immersion in an unexplored artistic mystery.

Her art is clear without translation, as the key motif of her art is the secret of art perceived through the media, which is a universal language.

Profile by the Doctor in Art History Russian State Museum, Svetlana Ershova.
