Achintya Hazra (Howrah, India) is a contemporary visual artist, self-taught and a master of watercolor and oil painting, internationally recognized for the vibrancy of his palette and the expressive power of his work. Born and raised in Howrah, near Kolkata, India, he displayed a natural inclination toward art from a young age, transforming his curiosity about color and form into a distinctive visual language that inspires collectors, students, and art lovers around the world.

Before dedicating himself entirely to art, he completed his service in the Indian Army with distinction, an experience that instilled in him discipline, resilience, and depth—qualities that resonate in every brushstroke of his work. Throughout his artistic career, he has participated in prominent exhibitions and international biennales, including the 158th Annual Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society, and has been invited as a special guest artist for plein air workshops and painting demonstrations in Russia and other countries.

His accolades include the Rising Star Award from the International Watercolor Masters and the Master Award at the West Bengal International Studio Art Symposium, as well as significant mentions in watercolor competitions across Europe, Asia, and Africa.

In addition to his personal practice, Achintya is the founder of Kala Arambh, a project dedicated to mentorship, workshops, and art education that connects emerging artists with a global community of creators, fostering both technical rigor and human sensitivity in every creative process.
